Portuguese footballer João Félix is close to returning to Stamford Bridge, this time on a permanent basis.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the situation has developed after the transfer of Atlético Madrid's striker Samu Omorodion to Chelsea fell through. Currently, the Blues and Los Colchoneros are discussing Félix's move to Chelsea as part of a deal involving Conor Gallagher.
The transfers of Omorodion and Gallagher were initially considered as separate transactions, effectively amounting to a swap deal. Now, Atlético is eager to avoid the collapse of the moves for Conor and Juan Alvarez, so they are urgently seeking solutions.
Additionally, Ben Jacobs of CBS explains that the official announcement of Gallagher's transfer was delayed because Chelsea was waiting to finalize the deal for Omorodion. Now, all parties are working to resolve the pending transfer issues.
Chelsea and Atlético have already initiated negotiations for Félix's transfer, with Atlético ready to sell the Portuguese forward for £43 million.
Meanwhile, it's worth noting that Chelsea is also keeping an eye on Victor Osimhen and intends to secure him on loan for the next season.
